Air Con Wiring Sydney
Air conditioner electrical wiring Sydney — dedicated AC circuits, isolator switches, split system & ducted AC wiring. Licensed electricians. All Sydney suburbs.
Every air conditioner requires a dedicated electrical circuit installed by a licensed electrician — it's a legal requirement in NSW, not optional. Tradie Heroes wires split system, multi-head and ducted air conditioning systems to AS/NZS 3000 compliance across all Sydney suburbs, issuing compliance certificates that your AC installer requires before commissioning the system.
We work in coordination with your air conditioning installer to wire the indoor and outdoor units with correctly rated cables, install the required lockable isolator switches, and provide a dedicated circuit from the switchboard. We cover all Sydney suburbs and can often schedule the electrical work on the same day as your AC installation to minimise disruption. Our work is guaranteed and all certificates are issued promptly for insurance and compliance records.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does an air conditioner need its own dedicated circuit?
Air conditioners draw substantial current during start-up and operation. A shared circuit can cause nuisance tripping of other circuit breakers, voltage drops affecting other appliances, and creates an overloading risk. A dedicated circuit prevents all these issues.
Can my AC installer do the electrical wiring in Sydney?
No — air conditioning installers (refrigeration mechanics) are not licensed electricians and cannot legally install the electrical wiring in NSW. The dedicated circuit and isolator must be installed by a licensed electrician separately.
How long does AC electrical wiring take?
A standard single split system electrical circuit takes 1–2 hours. Multi-head systems or large ducted systems requiring 3-phase wiring may take a full day. We coordinate timing with your AC installer.
Do I need a certificate of compliance for AC wiring?
Yes — NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for all new electrical circuits including dedicated AC circuits. The AC manufacturer's warranty also typically requires licensed electrical installation with a certificate.
What if my switchboard doesn't have room for an AC circuit?
We assess the switchboard as part of the job. If the board is full, we can add a tandem breaker, expand the board or upgrade it entirely. We quote any switchboard work upfront before starting.
